Charlotte Fox - 21st Jan 1973 ~ 26th July 2006A tribute and memorial statement by her best friend and team mate Vicki Harding. "A unique, beautiful caring girl who was loved by everyone who knew her." As I begin to write this tribute to Charlotte, as always the familiar stirrings of sadness and loss come over me and my heart begins to ache. It is still hard to comprehend that my lovely best friend Charlotte is no longer with us. Charlotte sadly lost her courageous and selfless battle with cancer in July 2006. Even through the darkest of days and the constant disappointments, Charlotte remained the girl we all loved, positive and caring, funny and interesting and giving to others. Charlotte was my favourite person who I always loved being with. For those of you lucky to have known Charlotte at NatWest Netball Club, I know she will bring a smile to your faces as you remember the many Brean weekends and social occasions we all had with her. If you were with Charlotte, you were in great company, laughing hysterically at one of her memorable stories (you know the ones) or another classic Charlotte moment when 'Ali G' rocked Brean. Charlotte always had time for everyone and always made others feel good with a kind word or compliment. For those of you who didn't know Charlotte, she Co-Captained the 2nd teams undefeated win of Division 3 in 2004 - 2005 and again played a vital role in the same team as they became champions again the following season 2005 - 2006. Charlotte would often receive player of the match from the opposition, and not only did she play a mean GD, but her sense of fairplay, sportsmanship and friendliness on and off court did not go unnoticed by opposing teams. She was a great team player, leading the way with her positivity and energy. Charlotte is my inspiration everyday, I feel so privileged she called me her best friend. She has been so cruelly robbed of her wonderful life, and her amazing family have also been cruely robbed of their beautiful mum, partner, daughter, sister, cousin, niece and friend forever. Charlotte above all, loved being a mummy, and for her not to be able to see her boys grow up is just too much to bear as she fought so hard to stay. I will miss and love you forever. Vicki xx
